Visitor’s Information
Once known as Drumcliffe of the Crosses, Drumcliffe Churchyard is open all year round, with St. Columba’s Church open daily during peak season. This ancient monastic site, founded by St. Columba (St. Colmcille), dates back to 574AD, with tales passed down for over a thousand years.
In a time before books, the gospels were carved into stone, and the monks who served the monastery continued this sacred tradition.
The last standing High Cross here stands as a testament to that history. Sligo’s only round tower provides an insight to monastic life and traditions.

Teach Ban Gallery and Arts Centre
Teach Bán Art gallery is a unique creative hub featuring a diverse range of Irish arts and crafts, including Jewellery, original art and prints, felt, photography, musical instruments and much more.
Much of the work reflects the themes that influenced W.B. Yeats, such as the picturesque landscapes of Sligo, rich Irish mythology, and the timeless music that resonates through this region.
As an artist-run space, you have the opportunity to meet the artists/makers and potentially observe these skilled artisans at work, creating works such as painting, weaving, felting, jewellery making, or music.
We also host engaging workshops, captivating live music performances, and informative talks, offering visitors an opportunity to delve deeper into Ireland’s cultural heritage.
The gallery is open 10am to 5pm 7 days a week, during the months of April to September.
